Welcome to the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). DBHDD provides treatment and support services to people with mental illnesses and addictive diseases, and support to people with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities. DBHDD serves people of all ages with the most severe and likely to be long-term conditions.

March 15, 2010 – Georgia’s newest agency has been awarded a $450,000 annual federal grant to improve access to children’s behavioral health care. DBHDD Office of Medicaid Coordination and Division of Mental Health’s Office of Federally-Funded Programs and Special Initiatives was awarded a joint grant by the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA).
